Daxxify in Winchester, Virginia

A peptide-formulated neuromodulator, approached through facial movement, anatomy, and The Layer Method™.

At Calibrae, Daxxify is not chosen because it is newer or because every patient needs the same product. Danielle Wiley, PA-C evaluates the movement pattern first, then determines whether Daxxify fits the treatment plan. The goal is strategic softening that preserves expression and supports overall facial balance.

What Daxxify is

Daxxify® (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) is a botulinum toxin type A neuromodulator. Its formulation uses a proprietary peptide as a stabilizer rather than human serum albumin or animal-derived components. For cosmetic use, Daxxify is FDA approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines — the vertical frown lines between the brows — in adults.

Daxxify units are specific to Daxxify and are not interchangeable with units of Botox® or other botulinum toxin products.

How Daxxify fits The Layer Method™

Daxxify works in the movement layer. Repetitive muscle activity can create dynamic lines, tension, asymmetry, downward pull, and patterns that become more etched over time. The Layer Method starts by asking whether movement is actually driving what you see.

If it is, a neuromodulator may be the correct first step. If the concern is being driven more by structural support, volume loss, or skin quality, Danielle may recommend a different treatment or a staged plan instead.

Why patients consider Daxxify

A peptide-formulated neuromodulator option
Potential for a fast onset of visible softening
Longer-lasting glabellar-line improvement for many patients
Strategic treatment of movement-related facial concerns
A treatment plan based on anatomy rather than preset areas
An alternative for patients deciding between neuromodulator options

Daxxify vs Botox

Daxxify and Botox are both neuromodulators, but they are different products and their units cannot be directly compared. Daxxify uses a peptide-based formulation and, in pivotal studies of glabellar lines, more than half of patients had none or mild frown lines at 24 weeks. Botox has a long clinical history and may be preferred for other reasons, including prior response and treatment goals.

At Calibrae, the question is not which product is universally “better.” The better choice is the one that fits your movement pattern, anatomy, previous treatment response, desired duration, and larger aesthetic plan. You can also learn about Botox treatment at Calibrae.

How quickly does Daxxify work?

In clinical trial diary data for glabellar lines, measurable improvement was reported as early as the next day and typically within 2 days. Your individual onset may be different, and the appearance of the final result depends on anatomy, dose, muscle strength, and treatment area.

How long can Daxxify last?

Duration varies. In pivotal glabellar-line studies, more than half of patients maintained none or mild frown lines at 24 weeks. That does not mean every patient will have the same duration, and results in other treatment areas may differ. Calibrae evaluates your response over time rather than promising a fixed number of months.

What treatment is like

Treatment is performed in office. Danielle evaluates facial movement dynamically, reviews relevant medical history, maps the treatment pattern, and places product according to anatomy and the goal of the treatment. The appointment itself is typically brief, and most patients return to normal daily activity afterward with individualized post-care guidance.

Who may be a good candidate

Daxxify may be considered for adults bothered by moderate to severe frown lines or for patients who are interested in a different neuromodulator option after individualized assessment. Candidacy depends on medical history, examination, prior neuromodulator response, goals, and whether movement is actually the primary driver of the concern.

Cosmetic treatment in areas beyond the FDA-approved glabellar indication may be considered by a qualified clinician when medically appropriate; those uses may be off-label and should be discussed during consultation.

Safety and candidacy matter

Daxxify, like all botulinum toxin products, carries a boxed warning regarding possible distant spread of toxin effect. It should not be used in patients with infection at the proposed injection site or known hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin preparations or components of Daxxify. Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy. Your consultation is where medications, medical history, neuromuscular conditions, swallowing or breathing concerns, prior toxin treatment, and other relevant factors are reviewed.

The Calibrae difference

The product is only one layer of the decision. Danielle Wiley, PA-C founded Calibrae around diagnosis-first aesthetic medicine: identify the driver, choose the correct layer, and sequence treatment intentionally. Daxxify may be part of that plan when movement is contributing to the concern, but it is not automatically the answer to every line.

That same framework connects Daxxify with other layers of care, including Sculptra for collagen and structural support, skin-quality treatments, facial balancing, and clinical skincare.

Common Questions

Daxxify FAQ

Is Daxxify FDA approved?

Yes. For cosmetic use, Daxxify is FDA approved for temporary improvement of moderate to severe glabellar lines in adults.

Is Daxxify stronger than Botox?

That comparison is too simplistic. They are different products with different formulations and product-specific units. Dose and response cannot be converted unit-for-unit.

Will Daxxify freeze my face?

The goal at Calibrae is controlled softening, not automatic loss of expression. Result depends heavily on assessment, placement, and dosing strategy.

How often would I need treatment?

There is no single schedule for every patient. Retreatment timing is based on clinical response, return of movement, goals, and the treatment plan.

Can I switch from Botox to Daxxify?

Many patients can consider a different neuromodulator, but timing, prior treatment, medical history, and goals should be reviewed first.

Where is Calibrae located?
